Die Ausstellungsbilder von lasciare – Palermo Fassadenfragmente basieren auf einer Foto- Serie, die Teil eines fotografischen Langzeitprojekts von Beobachtungen im urbanen Raum des centro storico, den historischen Stadtvierteln von Palermo/ Sizilien ist.
Die Bilder sind ein architektonisch-archäologischer Blick auf den patinösen Zustand der gesamten Altstadt Palermos. Sie dokumentieren die Überlagerung von vielfältigen Geschichtsspuren und den langsamen aber stetigen Prozess der Transformation in Palermos Zeitenwende der Nullerjahre.
In den Narben und Löchern der Fassaden fängt sich der starke Kontrast des Spiels von Lichteinfall und langen Schattenwürfen, das Fehlende wird durch den Schatten ersetzt und wieder lebendig gemacht. Bildprägendes Element sind filigrane metallene Balkongeländer.
Basis für die Werke bilden Diapositive als informative Bildträger - ein manueller Bearbeitungsprozess transferiert Digital-Ausdrucke dieser Bilder mittels einer Frescotechnik auf handgeschöpften Büttenkarton mit Putzbeschichtungen – die Weiterbearbeitung mit Mischtechniken erzeugt eine ganz eigene Poesie.
Die Palermo Fassadenfragmente sind Schichtdicke Fassadenstücke, sie erscheinen wie rausgegriffen aus dem Mauerwerk der Gebäude.

The exhibition images of lasciare - Palermo Façade fragments are based on a photo series that is part of a long-term photographic project of observations in the urban space of the centro storico, the historic districts of Palermo, Sicily.
The pictures are an architectural-archaeological view of the patina-like state of the entire old town of Palermo. They document the superimposition of diverse traces of history and the slow but steady process of transformation in Palermo's turn of the noughties.
The scars and holes in the façades capture the stark contrast of the interplay between the incidence of light and the long shadows cast; what is missing is replaced by the shadow and brought back to life. Filigree metal balcony railings are a defining element of the picture.
The works are based on slides as informative image carriers - a manual editing process transfers digital prints of these images using a fresco technique onto handmade cardboard with plaster coatings - the further processing with mixed techniques creates a very unique poetry.
The Palermo façade fragments are layer-thick façade pieces, they appear to have been taken out of the masonry of the buildings.
