Syncrisis occurs when diverse opinions are compared, underscoring their contrasting nature.
The artists build off this idea as they examine stories of personal courage amongst various Neukölln residents, portraying narratives that exemplify such breaks from social norms. Collages of photographs, textiles, prints, text and paint offer an artistic interpretation of these stories. Alongside the collages, three experimental audioplays use biographical accounts to illustrate the inner conflict that occurs when people break with normativity. The viewer is thereby taken on a personal and historical tour of Neukölln, offering new perspectives and highlighting little known tales.
